Arla is Europe's largest dairy company - sourcing over 7.1 billion kilograms of milk per year. This is the equivalent of almost 80% of all milk production in Sweden and Denmark, including 0.9 billion kg milk from the UK. Arla Foods was established in the spring of 2000 by the merger between the Danish MD Foods and the Swedish Arla. It is a co-operative owned by approximately 13,650 milk producers.
